Photo by Knate Myers Photography "Sunset at Alien City" Hiking around this place, between 10' hoodoos and underneath a full moon, was such an incredibly fun and surreal experience. Before that though I was treated to a beautiful sunset.

Paul Rojas 2013 (c) This was from a trip to the New Mexico badlands last month with my friend, David . We wandered upon this little area only a few minutes before dawn, and it was probably one of the best spots we found the entire trip. There were just comps everywhere! There was so much to shoot that David and I never even crossed paths. Aside from the occasional call to "Look at the light to your left!!!" or "Check out the clouds above you!!!" we were pretty much in our own little worlds, scrambling up and down hoodoos, doing our tripod workouts, and getting totally overwhelmed by everything we saw. After we were done, we could only stand back in silence, and look far to the horizon. It was quite humbling, being so far from everything, yet completely surrounded by such an amazing landscape. We couldn't have asked for a better morning to end the trip.
